6/11/11 Middlegate to Austin 63 miles.
Left Middlegate camp at 7:00 AM. Rode 14 miles to Cold Springs for breakfast. This route is very hilly with grind away uphills and very fast down. The valleys between the passes are gently slopping either up or down. The riders hit Austin about 2:00 - 63 miles. The camp ground was owned by a Baptist Church and we showered in the church itself. Austin is built on the side of a mountain. It seems kinda dead. The local bar was something to behold. The camp was on a high escarpment above the main road. The temps fell, and the wind was gusty and we were shivering as we ate our supper. We hit the tents at 8:30 PM!!
